A diploma from an academic course at secondary school or high school usually means that you have completed a course that gives you acces to institutions of higher education in your home country.

For information on recognition of vocational qualifications, click here.

To find out whether your secondary school credentials are sufficient for admission to university or college in Norway, you should send an application to UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admission Services (Kontoret for Samordna opptak). There are national regulations concerning admission based on foreign credentials, and the UCAS office will tell you whether you meet the basic admission requirements, or whether you ned to pass exams in additional subjects. Adress, telephone and more information can be found here.

If you started but did not complete secondary school in your home country, you can be exempted from subjects you have already taken. The school you are attending will evaluate which subjects you may be exempted from.
