Library services
In Oslo's libraries you have access to foreign and Norwegian newspapers, and you can borrow books and CD's (free of charge). Oslo Public Library has branches in many of the urban districts of Oslo. Their website is in Norwegian only.

Bazar
Bazar is an Internet-based information service for minorities in Norway. You will find information about Norwegian society, tips about learning the Norwegian language, Internet newspapers from around the world, and more. Bazar comes in 14 languages! Find out more on www.bazar.deichman.no

Sport
If you like sports (and we don't mean watching!), this is the place to go on the Internet. (Information in Norwegian only.)

Oslo District of Sports Activities (Oslo Idrettskrets) offers daytime physical activities of all kinds (swimming, ball games, spinning, aerobics, rollerblades, skiing, Tai Chi, etc) to persons who are unemployed, on long-time sickness leave or in rehabilitation.

Cultural activities
The best place to check out cultural activities (movies, plays, concerts, etc) in Oslo are the daily newspapers. On a local level, your urban district will also have information on what is going on where you live.

Cross-cultural activities

Samspill
Samspill (from the Norwegian word for Interplay) is an organization for world music and world musicians living in Norway. Samspill is funded by Arts Council Norway and aims to strengthen world musicians' position in the Norwegian music scene through counselling, information and arranging of concerts, workshops and courses.

Innvik - the floating stage
Oslo's floating cultural arena, is anchored in Bjørvika. MS Innvik is owned by Nordic Black Theatre and is a multicultural, cross-cultural, transcultural small ship. Its core activity is the theatre, but you will find a variety of other activities on board.
MS Innvik has three main arenas: Theatre, café and bed & breakfast.

Nordic Black Theatre
MS Innvik is the home of the Nordic Black Theatre.
Nordic Black Theatre runs the educational project Nordic Black Express - NBX - a developing project in the art of theatre, focusing mainly on acting. The participants are transcultural young artists ages 18 ­ 26. The aim is to strengthen and educate actors of colour for the theatre, film and media in Norwayand to develop a collective of actors, directors, journalists and screenwriters that reflect the global and transcultural plurality and reality of the population today.

Horisont
Horizon, or Horisont in Norwegian, is a government-funded institution, independent of either the government or any other political standpoints. Objectives are to explore new methods of artistic and cultural exchange between Norway and the countries where the ethnic minorities in Norway come from, and to enhance the participation of minorities in the mainstream Norwegian cultural life.
