Financial aid
If you are in upper secondary school or studying at university or
college, you can apply for financial aid from the State Educational
Loan Fund (Lånekassen). As an adult learner in primary and
lower secondary school (grunnskolen) you are also entitled to a
apply for a grant and/or loan.
Financial support is given through grants and loans. The grant
is money you don't pay back, whereas the loan must be repaid. No
interest is charged while you are studying.
If you are not a Norwegian citizen, special rules apply.
